Another Grand Conviction

Daniel stands on his own convictions once more. In Daniel, ch. 6, we find the great story of Daniel being thrown into a den of lions for not bowing down to the king’s decree to no worship another king (or, God).

Darius is the king at this time. The king’s leaders bring charges against Daniel. Darius was grieved and desired to spare Daniel but could not according to his decree. The king makes an incredible statement as Daniel was thrown into the den of lions (v.16). Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee. Wow.

In the morning the king arose and went hastily to the den of lions. He cries out in hopes that God has delivered Daniel from the lions. Daniel answers, O king, live for ever. My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the mouths of the lions, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done not hurt. (v. 22)

There are numerous examples in Scripture for us today. Be convicted to believe God and trust God, and watch Him show Himself strong on our behalf.

One preacher once said, It is never right to do wrong. Yes, and it is never wrong to be convicted of believing and trusting God.
