Convictions, not Preferences

Neither convictions nor preferences appear in the Holy Scriptures. But there is ample evidence that God expects our convictions (strong belief, resolve), and for us to be so grounded that our belief is not a preference (a liking, perhaps greatly).
1 Thessalonians 1:5, “For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we are among you for your sake.” What a strong statement. In power, in the Holy Ghost, with much assurance.
Holy Spirit convinces and seals Truth to His Saints. There can be no wavering when Holy Spirit has given us a conviction that is grounded in His strength.
A lot of Saints (children of God) prefer the things of God over the world’s way. A lot of Saints prefer the things of God over the devil’s way. But unfortunately not a lot of Saints are not convinced enough, and convicted, that God’s Way is the only way.
Scriptural convictions are founded upon Truth. Truth that cannot be challenged, corrupted, or compromised. Yet many falter at standing firm on Truth. That is a lack of a conviction and a show of a preference.
The Gospel is Truth. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man cometh unto the Father but by Him. And all other ways are not The Way. Trusting in His shed blood on Calvary as the ONLY payment for sin.
