Faith - Hope - Love

1 Corinthians 13:13, And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Love (God Himself) gives us His Faith (His Life) which gives us Hope (in Him). An incredible possession of all Saints. Yet, God tells us He Himself is the greatest of these three.

The Greatest is LOVE. What a declaration by God. Of all the great gifts our Heavenly Father gives us, He tells us His LOVE is greatest. And yet, how many Saints grasp just what the Love of God truly is? Or, even have a total confidence that God loves them?

That is why we can say: There is nothing the Presence of God cannot overcome. His Presence can deal with, provide, protect, and prevail. He is our Good Shepherd doing what a shepherd does.

So what is the Love of God? In 1st Corinthians 13, verses 4-8, the Love of God is shown to be actions (verbs) and not adjectives. God Is, God does. His Name, I AM, does not identify him in a descriptive way, but as an active Life.

Therefore, it is wonderful to have His Life of Faith, sealing our believing Him. It is also great to have His Hope (expecting to receive). But God says those two do not compare with our possessing God Himself. All the rest is icing on top of the cake so to speak. We do well to cherish His Presence, and our communing with Him.
