giving place to the enemy

Until we learn that all Spiritual work can be performed only by God, we Saints
live spiritually powerless in the carnal, spiritual flesh.
Dependence upon God is our only hope. A Spiritual HOPE that we can expect to
receive.
Ephesians 4:27, "Neither give place to the devil." In my book, Putting the Handcuffs on God, there are 26 ways that we do that. The word "place," topos in the Greek = ground, territory in our life to function in. A powerless enemy given place to operate. How sad.
So, we need to avoid giving the enemy even a toe-hold, much less a foot-hold. He doesn't need much to wreak havoc in a Saint's life.
If we read Ephesians 4:17-32, we find several ways God tells us of how "place/ground" is given to the enemy. Lying, prolonged anger, stealing, corrupt words, grieving Holy Spirit, bitterness, wrath, clamor, evil speaking, and malice.
One aspect of God's ultimate freedom is found in verses 21-24. Put off / Put on. They are for another day.
So, next we will see God's way of His restoring any place we have given the enemy...
