Opposing Ourselves - pt. 1

Just the thought of opposing ourselves is a bummer, isn’t it? Yet, God mentions this, and we would do well to take a look at and meditate on how we can do this.

2 Timothy 2:24-26, “And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”

On the surface, this seems easy enough. Do not deny the Truth of God in any way, shape, or fashion. Truth makes us free. All else puts us in bondage. And who wants to be in bondage? But the fact these verses are here tells us that God knows His Saints CAN miss and deny Spiritual Truth.

Being aware, and thinking about HOW we can do this is very important. Let me give 4 ways it is easy for Saints to oppose themselves…

1. not being aware of the importance of knowing and studying the original language translated into our native language.

2. not being diligent to find and know the accurate Scriptural definitions of words.

3. not being aware and knowing the importance of accurate Scriptural diagrams of the physical and spiritual makeup of earth beings.

4. not being aware of the importance of ALL Spiritual Truth being given in Parables.
