The ever-present parabolic words that send Saints thinking in the carnal mind off to the races…go, go, go – do, do, do. Constantly reading or hearing such things as…
That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt
according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And
that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true
holiness. Ephesians 4:22-24
Truth presented in a parable that is only recognized, discerned, and grasped truthfully in the Mind of God indwelling every Saint. Let us look at each point…
1. What is there to put off of the old man? He was crucified and removed at salvation.
2. What Spirit do Saints have? Holy Spirit. Therefore, the only spirit of your mind could be the Mind of God in the Holy Soul, the function of Holy Spirit. Why or how could His Mind be renewed? The Greek in v.23 is ananeoo, meaning renovate or reform. God’s Mind needs neither.
3. What is there to put on of the new man, the Saint? which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Perfect new man.
So, once again, we are to be reminded and stay cognizant that all instructions that end at our feet, are parabolic words that Holy Spirit will enact through a Saint’s earthsuit. Forget about off & on…relax, rest, enjoy the Life of God through us.
